Manuel is a clinical laboratory scientist, fully bilingual (English/Spanish) and seasoned certified healthcare executive (CHE, Canadian College of Health Leaders) who holds a master’s degree in Health Administration and a Certificate in Clinical laboratory Quality Management.

With over 35 years of healthcare experience, Manuel has held several leadership positions in Canadian private and public organizations, including major hospital laboratories in Toronto. He has performed several national and international assignments for renown healthcare and consulting organizations in the fields of hospital, laboratory readiness, and accreditation. In addition, he has been invited to speak in various domestic and international conferences and events on topics related to laboratory medicine accreditation, quality management systems, and laboratory utilization (Choosing Wisely). Manuel also completed an Advanced Leadership Program at the University of Toronto, earned a Certificate in Clinical Risk, Negligence, and Claims Management in Health Care at York University, and recently finished an advanced course in Healthcare Redesign at University of Tasmania.
